The BVID website is the property of the Univerty of Bordeaux, which is an educational institution. The website and the database are developped, maintained and hosted at the Observatoire Aquitain des Sciences de l'Univers (OASU), and more specifically at the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Bordeaux (LAB), which are part of the University of Bordeaux.
The purpose of this website is to provide the scientific community with information and products related to the Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) technique, and especially VLBI maps and derived data and products.
Reuse of material from the website (except for the below products) is authorised, provided the source is acknowledged (BVID: http://bvid.astrophy.u-bordeaux.fr).
Reuse of the VLBI maps and FITS files is subject to the authorization of the image authors. The image author or institution can be found in the “Additional information” next to the image, or can be requested from Arnaud Collioud (arnaud.collioud@u-bordeaux.fr).
The BVID website do not collect, sell, rent or trade email lists or any data with other companies and businesses. The following Privacy Policy will provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information and how we use it.
2. Privacy Policy
The BVID website complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). More information about this regulation can be found on the official website of the EU.2.1 User account & Personal data
Which data do we hold?
When creating your user account, we are collecting your:
• First Name
• Last Name
• Email Address (used as login)
• Institute
• Country
Once logged into the BVID with your personal account, you can:
→ Have access to additional tools (for example: Skymap charts, export functionalities) and data (for example: FITS files),
→ Set/unset sources or experiments as favorites,
→ Easily retrieve data from BVID using dedicated download managers, and keep an history of your downloads,
→ Send us some feedback about your use of our website,
→ Modify your personal information and password.
Access & Rectification of your personal information
You have the right to view and amend the personal information that we hold about you.
This information can be changed, after logging to the BVID website with your personal login, in your “Member area” under the tab “My Profile”. All information can be changed except your email address. If you need to modify your email adress, please contact Arnaud Collioud (arnaud.collioud@u-bordeaux.fr).
You can also view and delete your favorites (sources and experiments) in the tab “Favorites”. In order to re-add them, you need to re-open the source/experiment page, and then re-set them as favorites.
You can look through your download history (sources and experiments) in the tab “Downloads” for the data you downloaded thanks to the BVID download managers. If you want to delete your history, please contact Arnaud Collioud (arnaud.collioud@u-bordeaux.fr). Your download history will be kept for a period 13 months. Older downloads will be automatically deleted.
Right to be forgotten
You may request the deletion of any information we hold on you at any time.
Be aware that requesting deletion is total and irreversible. This means that we will also lose record of you having ever been on our systems. If you re-join our systems, by voluntarily providing your personal information, you will appear to us as a completely new user. This does not affect your other rights in any way.
To request the deletion of all your personal information, please contact Arnaud Collioud (arnaud.collioud@u-bordeaux.fr) using your login email address or otherwise proving your identity.
Email Policy
Your email adress will not be traded or sold to any other company. We will only use it to send you direct communications about the BVID website and your navigation experience.
2.2 Cookies Policy
What are cookies?

It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you do not have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.
